One hundred years ago, G Gurdjieff arrived in New York to present his ideas to an American audience. Shortly after his return to France, he was involved in a 'near fatal' car crash which left him unable to continue to operate his Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man. Closing the Institute, he turned his attention towards writing and over the next two decades, wrote three books as a means to preserve his teaching for future generations.
His first book, "An Objectively Impartial Criticism of the Life of Man, or Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson," was meant to destroy, in the mentation and feelings of the reader, the beliefs and views about everything existing in the world. This challenging piece of literature is now studied by numerous individuals and groups across the world and seems to offer the persevering reader a means of spiritual evolution through the very process of engaging with the text. For those interested in joining a reading group to study the Tales (as it is called), whether you are new to the text or familiar with it already, I am hoping to facilitate zoom based one hour meeting and am looking for others who wish to join me in this endeavour.
To that end, please contact me at the noted email address for more information.
